Instructions for Class Intro Projects - Summer, 2002

Nedstat Counter Before doing your Intro Project, you must have already established your Yahoo Mail account properly.

To earn Bonus Points, you need to send me an e-mail message. It must be sent from your u02nnnn Yahoo Mail account. In the header lines of your message, the following information (shown in boldface) should be entered at the keyboard by you:
To: cis41u02@yahoo.com
Subject: Intronnnn
cc: cis41u02@mindspring.com

(Notice that all the entries in the Header lines are case-sensitive and that there must be no spaces anywhere in the data that you enter into the Header lines. Any deviation from this format will cause your message not to be received!  Also, remember that nnnn, during the remainder of this course, is a template for your actual Class Code Number.   If my Class Code Number were 1099, for example, my Subject: entry would be:  Intro1099    It would NOT be:  Intronnnn   Get the idea?)

In the body of your message, please write a MINIMUM of 10 sentences about yourself that will  introduce yourself to your classmates. Later on, we will be organizing some team projects, and these Introductions will help you (and other students) decide which persons you (and they) would like to work with on a team. Therefore, you should write your Intro as you would want to present yourself to your classmates, since any student in the class will be able to read any other student's introduction.   Messages with fewer than 10 sentences will not be acceptable, so count your sentences carefully.

This project must be done correctly by 6 PM on Monday, July 8th, in order to receive full bonus credit. Half-credit will be given to correctly completed projects done by 3 PM on Wednesday, July 10th.  No bonus credit will be given for this project if it is done after 3 PM on July 10th,  but it should be done anyway, since any bonus credit activities done after July 10th will NOT earn credit until after the Intro Project has been completed correctly. Credit for any bonus activities done after July 10th will only be awarded for activities that were done AFTER the date of your correct completion of the Intro Project.

Feel free to e-Mail me if you have questions. You will notice that I now have two e-mail addresses for you to use. Use the Yahoo address only for specific assignments which, like the Intro Project described above, specifically instruct you to use it.. All other messages (such as those with questions about due dates, how to do things, or those giving suggestions, jokes, life stories, etc.) should be sent only to my usual Mindspring e-mail address as given on your Green Sheet.
