ESTABLISHING YOUR E-MAIL ACCOUNT
To establish your e-mail account, go to this URL: www.mail.yahoo.com/
The correct format for the user login name (they call it the Yahoo! Mail Name) is: u02nnnn
(the "nnnn" stands for your 4-digit Class Code, beginning with 10 or 20).
BE SURE YOU SUBSTITUTE YOUR ACTUAL CODE IN PLACE OF THE nnnn SHOWN ABOVE!
For the rest of this course, whenever you see nnnn used, it means you should substitute
your own 4-digit Class Code in place of the nnnn.
When you are asked for a password, you should use the password that you have written on
your blue sheet. Be sure to enter it EXACTLY the way you wrote it, being careful of
upper vs. lower-case issues and avoidance of spacing.
Once you have your Yahoo Mail account established, your official e-mail
address for this class will be:
u02nnnn@yahoo.com
Using this e-mail address, it will be possible for you to send and/or receive e-mail to or
from any computer with an Internet Browser that has a connection to the Internet, such as
the ones in the College Library, the Open Labs in the Business Building, the Title III Lab
in GE-118, the Tutoring Center in S-2, or even the San Jose Public Library, for
example.
Check your e-mail after Weds., 6/26 to find out what your Secret Word is and bring that
word to class with you (or have it memorized) on Monday, 7/1
in order to earn your Bonus Points.
